In 9.8.4.2 The Width Modifier, it is written "Whether or not a presentation modifier is included, a width modifier may be supplied. This indicates the number of characters or digits to be included in the representation of the value." The text appears to distinguish digits from non-digit characters. Is it not sufficient to say "This indicates the number of characters to be included in the representation of the value."?
Yes, "or digits" adds nothing to the sense and I have deemed this editorial and fixed it.
Thanks.
