Description Cynthia Shelly 2015-11-14 02:22:07 UTC
The text alternative calculation in the SVG-AAM is very clear. It refers to the Text Alternative Computaiotn 1.1 document, and then explicitly lists which steps are overridden by native text alternatives, and what attributes and elements are involved. This format is much simpler to understand how to implement and test.

While implementing the combination of aria and html name computiaton, it is necessary to navigate back and forth between the documents and guess which html features fall under the defintions in the text computation document. This is confusing and error prone.
