Item 10 in 5.7.1 makes clear that the same does indeed apply if the copied node is attached as a child to a document node, so it would be clearer if we said so here. Michael Kay
The same text appears in 11.9.2 and needs fixing in the same way.

This clarification has now been added to the relevant sentence under xsl:copy and xsl:copy-of. Thank you for raising it.
