I really just want to replace this whole mechanism with caniuse data. Just not sure how to map it yet.

For commit messages, I always specify "wgio" together. In the tracker it could just be replaced by a single "browser" icon.

Status icons are entirely different now, and the tracker just has a "browser" icon (thanks zcorpan). So this is moot now.
