Awkward wording.  I would say, "If the author avoids specifying any image in
the HTML markup and instead instantiates a single download from script, that
avoids the double download problem above but / then no image will be
downloaded at all for users with scripting disabled and aggressive image
downloading optimization will also be disabled./
