Description Devarshi Pant 2014-08-26 17:25:24 UTC
Refer to URL: http://www.w3.org/TR/html-markup/span.html#span-details

The paragraph under "Details" --
"The span element is a can be used with attributes such as class, lang, xml:lang, and title to add additional semantics and structure to phrasing content" is not grammatically correct.

Sorry, but the specification you are referring to has now been discontinued.

Robin,

A user hitting a subpage wouldn't know it has been discontinued. Granted, the homepage, http://www.w3.org/TR/html-markup/ does carry the information, but hardly helpful in light of the above observation.

This information should be passed on to all subpages. Also, the WG Note "W3C Working Group Note" does not synch with the current status of the document -- not to mention whether AT would even parse such information that renders through CSS.
