Description Ian 'Hixie' Hickson 2014-08-01 20:36:39 UTC
http://mimesniff.spec.whatwg.org/#terminology

"A byte sequence is a sequence of bytes." is a tautological definition. Either a definition is just not needed, or it needs to be elaborated upon so that it is made clear why the definition is needed.

I've attempted to make the definition of "byte sequence" less tautological and more obviously notable:

"A byte sequence is a list of one or more bytes, such that the position of the first byte and the position of the last byte are unambiguously identifiable."

https://github.com/whatwg/mimesniff/commit/6936e7323b7bbff4f1f047bfa50b06c8a259889b

I'm going to assume this addresses your concern, but feel free to reopen if you feel it doesn't.
