Description Aaron Colwell 2014-05-06 16:05:47 UTC
This bug is to track work around finding a permanent home for the byte stream format registry and referenced byte stream format specs. We also need to define the update process for these documents and determine what their status should be in the W3C process.

The editor's draft of the registry and the version published for CR have diverged with the addition of the MPEG Audio Byte Stream Format. The addition of this format, the addition of the "Generate Timestamps Flag" column to the registry, and the corresponding updates to the MSE editors draft to handle the "Generate Timestamps Flag" make the editor's draft of the registry incompatible with the current MSE CR draft. We'll need to keep this in mind when we establish the single new home for the registry.

The W3C Director has ruled that Informative references like this are okay. See:
https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=25733#c7

Until informed otherwise I believe we should assume the registry and associated files can continue to exist at their current locations.

etc.
and that they can be updated in place whenever needed.

Resolving as fixed based on Comment 2 and confirmation on the public-html-media list (http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-media/2014Aug/0008.html)
