Description Mounir Lamouri 2014-04-11 17:49:17 UTC
Mozilla and Microsoft would prefer if locking could only be done on orientation types. There is no strong use cases for that and it can always be added later so it should be fine to change.

There is still the question of whether we should be able to lock to '0' (ie. 'native').

Locking to "0" or "native" sounds ok to me. But I think we should try to find a name for it which makes it clear that if you care about portrait vs. landscape then using those should be easier.

Maybe something like "hardware-native", "hardware" or "native". Longer is in some sense better here since that will encourage people to use "portrait" or "landscape" as appropriate.

I picked 'natural' as a name because 'native' is a pretty overloaded term on the Web.

Please, voice your concerns if any.
