As he correctly states, the border attribute has fallen out of list permitted content attribtues for <table>. Please put it back.

As per the my comments in bug 24591, including reference to a HTML WG decision, it does not make sense to keep border out of the list of permitted attributes.

Robin,

I will further note that there is no such thing as being ”half pregnant”: The @border attribute *is* part of table - HTML5 and HTML51 do make that clear, just look at the attribute index http://www.w3.org/html/wg/drafts/html/master/index.html#attributes-1 - and the section to which it point - http://www.w3.org/html/wg/drafts/html/master/tabular-data.html#attr-table-border

Status: Accepted
Change Description: reverted change
Rationale: The editor's position is that this decision is wrong and that the arguments in its favour have limited merit; however it would require more energy to fight than the conformance of the border attribute is worth.
