After reading the definition of 'related concept' I disregarded the note that says status role is related to the alert role. But it then goes on to reinforce the relationship with, 'Alerts are specialized forms of the status role'. The status role refers to 'A container whose content is advisory information for the user but is not important enough to justify an alert, often but not necessarily presented as a status bar'. I do not see why then one is trying to relate the status role with the alert role. What is the primary and secondary objective for doing this? They are quite unrelated and the statements that try to make this connection confuses the reader. These statements are best omitted from the description of both roles. Hi Sailesh, This is not an issue with the HTML spec it should be filed against the ARIA 1.1 spec.
Steve, I got to the Bugzilla page from the HTML validator 'Report Feedback' link. In the component drop down I did not see ARIA. So I did not change it. And as the validation page says this is an experimental feature for validation, etc. I thought maybe this is how it is categorized. Even now the closest is 'Using ARIA in HTML'. So I have changed it to this now. Regards, Sailesh

There's not a bugzilla component for ARIA in the Validator product, but as far as I can see, this bug report isn't about the validator behavior anyway -- it's about the ARIA spec. I do not believe there is anything to fix here. If you believe there is anything wrong with the current text then please file a new github issue against the ARIA spec at https://github.com/w3c/aria/issues We no longer use bugzilla
