The <area> element has a defined activation behavior. Doesn't this imply that it should be listed as "interactive content" here:
http://www.w3.org/html/wg/drafts/html/master/dom.html#interactive-content-0

(as it is interactive under certain conditions, not always though)

Or are the two definitions not related?
