This is an archived snapshot of W3C's public bugzilla bug tracker, decommissioned in April 2019. Please see the home page for more details.
The following properties were added by Netscape 4 and got partially implemented by WebKit. In WebKit the visible property is readonly and in Chrome these return true at all times. window.locationbar window.menubar window.personalbar window.scrollbars window.statusbar window.toolbar These were never implemented by IE nor Opera which proves that they are not needed on the open web.
Actually, these do reflect the params passed to window.open. I would still like us to remove these ;-)
I guess we should experiment with removing them from browsers first.
Yeah, if you want to remove them please be my guest. I'd be more than happy to drop them from the spec, but I am reluctant to remove them first. I prefer to have things in the spec that aren't strictly needed than have the spec missing things that are. :-)
Anyone had any luck removing these? (arv? anne?)
I have nothing new to report. I'll add a usage counter for them so we will get some data eventually.
arv, did you end up getting any data from the usage counters?
These are really high :'( http://www.chromestatus.com/metrics/feature/popularity Doesn't seem like we can remove them any time soon.
