See http://docs.webplatform.org/wiki/Meta:svg/tutorials/smarter_svg_text for example of upload of an SVG image. UI includes static image.  SVG is only available by clicking thru twice. Problems: static PNG can't display animations.  It can't be be inspected.  In this case, the PNG doesn't represent the SVG's gradient accurately.
