(Feedback from Christian Vogler:) Is transparency the default for the regions, or does this need to be explicitly set in the CSS? We probably need a ::cue-region default selector for regions and set the background-color to transparent in the default style sheet.
transparent is the initial value for background-color.
Simon - the concern was about regions, not cues (something that may be called something completely different when Ian has spec-ed it)
Yes. I mean, transparent is the initial value for background-color *in CSS*. Hence, there's no need for a ::cue-region default selector for regions and set the background-color to transparent in the default style sheet.
I see! Thanks - that makes it easy indeed. I should add a note about it, though, for those that want to avoid CSS.
Mentioned that region's default background color is transparent. https://dvcs.w3.org/hg/text-tracks/rev/b21cbb0dd6ac
