Is this about https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450723#c4 ? If so, seems no longer relevant. If not, please give more information.

Because the quirk was removed from trunk in 2008 (see the end of the same comment I linked to).

I tested it on a Windows computer with Wingdings installed and could not reproduce the J quirk with Firefox.

So the Wingdings font doesn't work anymore on the Web? I find that surprising, but if true, that's fantastic.

AFAICT it "works" as follows:

IE9 works if the font is installed, both ASCII range and PU range.
Other browsers works if the font is installed, but only PU range.
