zcorpan: Why is that bug no longer relevant? (Taking to make sure I don't forget it until I'm convinced it's irrelevant.)
Because the quirk was removed from trunk in 2008 (see the end of the same comment I linked to). I tested it on a Windows computer with Wingdings installed and could not reproduce the J quirk with Firefox.
So the Wingdings font doesn't work anymore on the Web? I find that surprising, but if true, that's fantastic.
AFAICT it "works" as follows: IE9 works if the font is installed, both ASCII range and PU range. Other browsers works if the font is installed, but only PU range.
