Description Jacob Rossi [MSFT] 2012-11-28 01:31:45 UTC
Opening on behalf of Rick Byers. [1]

Pointer Events spec defines a mapping with legacy mouse events for content that is not aware of pointer events. In a similar scenario, there is content that uses touch events [2] and is not aware of pointer events. For UAs that wish to implement compatibility touch events for such content and for authors that wish to understand the relationship between pointer events and touch events, a mapping should be defined between pointer and touch event dispatch.

Discussed possibility of defining this as a WG Note, potentially published instead by the Web Events Working Group. [3]

I took the AI to write up a description of a mapping we think will work (still trying to hammer out some details around compatbility), so assigning to myself if that's OK.

Per 12/4 telecon resolution, this work should be owned by the Web Events Working Group.
