There are places on the site where an image map would be nice, like the big flow chart on "Getting Started", where e.g., 'Tasks' and 'Architecture' could be linked to those pages. See: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ImageMap This was suggested by 'NotTomato' at the bug sprint.
We could use this to replace the need for an SVG version. My issues though are accessibility and syntax. It looks rough to get setup, is there a tool to help figure out how to target parts of an image? Then how does this affect accessibility on the image?
