Description Ian 'Hixie' Hickson 2012-10-31 18:49:46 UTC
IMHO the "actual media type" should be called the "sniffed media type". "Actual" implies some level of confidence that we can't justify here.

Blame Anne; he suggested I change it.
Comment 2 Ian 'Hixie' Hickson 2012-10-31 22:23:50 UTC
Your spec, your blame. :-P
Comment 3 Gordon P. Hemsley 2012-11-01 16:54:19 UTC
I've renamed 'actual media type' to 'sniffed media type':

https://github.com/whatwg/mimesniff/commit/c7ec25efe0a48ca760869d05895a2b8cfd88c9f5

I've also renamed 'specified media type' to 'supplied media type':

https://github.com/whatwg/mimesniff/commit/39a7887a0d20c6acc614fdf856ad875514a26d2e
