Description JuleeAtAdobe 2012-10-02 19:58:22 UTC
1. Go to: http://docs.webplatform.org/wiki/Category:JavaScript

2. See different URLs: some have .../js/... others .../javascript/...

expected: normalized nomenclature
Comment 1 JuleeAtAdobe 2012-10-02 20:19:05 UTC
More confusion regarding js vs. javascript names and where things live.

Issue: .../js/... is less descriptive, and complicates discoverability. URLs should be self-apparent for Contributors.

Actual: …/js/… namespace resolves to .../javascript/...
Expected: Instead, redirect from those URLs to …/javascript/… so the correct URL shows up in the address bar.

Issue: too many tutorial nodes

Actual: …/javascript/tutorials/… node and .../tutorials/javascript/... causes confusion as to the preferred location of JavaScript tutorials.

Expected: One tutorials node; one tutorials index. A page /javascript/tutorials/ explains that tutorials should be created under tutorials/javascript, links to tutorials/javascript, and the list of tutorials lives only at tutorials/javascript.

There's now only one javascript tree, and tuts are now under tuts.
Removed .../js/.. pages.
Moved JavaScript tutorials to root tuts node.
There's still an issue with redirects not updating browser address field, but I'll file a different bug for that.
