Currently, a key-board only user must tab through each link in each drop-down in a strictly linear fashion. Tabbing behavior should instead be that initial tabbing goes across the top-level categories, when the user tabs to the category they want, press Enter, and *then* tabbing goes through the drop down.
This is breadcrumbs menu issue, and will be solved before this feature is deployed.
Hi John, Thanks for reporting this. I was also concerned about it. On the other hand, I'm not sure about hitting "Enter", will that be discoverable enough? I'm a heavy keyboard user and I never try it, since I know that if they haven't taken the care to make the menu keyboard accessible, Enter will just click the link. Also, most of our menus also serve as buttons, so Enter should trigger the function of the link. How about changing menu with the arrow keys?
