We make use of sub-pages a LOT. We also have a lot of listing pages that ideally would list subpages automatically (at least by default). Turns out that it's not possible to list only children (as opposed to all descendants) in MediaWiki unless you install an extension like http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:SubPageList. This will allow us to automatically generate pages like the root page, which should list all of the top-level topics (e.g. DOM, HTML, SVG, etc).
Seems like we'd be ok if we ship without this. Infra issue.
Without this extension the amount of work to generate the stub/landing pages could increase by a large margin.
Added.
