This bug was cloned to create bug 18228 as part of operation convergence.

The data in bug 18228 contradicts the statements in CORE-35269. The comments in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=170021 seem very vague and don't justify the different behaviour either.

In the absence of more solid data, I'm not changing this and am going to hope that Gecko and Opera change to match the other browsers.
