Description Julian Reschke 2012-05-19 11:10:06 UTC
Right now, including the meta/@name='generator' affects validation of <img> tags (see 4.8.1.1.13 Guidance for conformance checkers); it would be good if the definition of the keyword would mention this because it's a somewhat surprising side-effect.

Hi Silvia,

The alt Meta Generator issue was reopened as ISSUE-206, a call for consensus was made and resolved by Amicable Resolution
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html/2012Aug/0452.html

The prevailing change proposal was:
http://www.w3.org/html/wg/wiki/ChangeProposals/Issue31cMetaGeneratorUpdated

So this bug 17117 should reflect that resolution.

Note: the explanatory paragraph related to meta generator is removed as of Bug 9212. I'm resolving as a duplicate to that bug. If you prefer the FIXED resolution, I'm game with that too.
