Description Richard Ishida 2011-12-05 09:00:47 UTC
After initial upload of specification, I see

[[
Existing data stored in this system

i18n-html4 test suite index

1 Character encoding
]]

I tried remapping to http://www.w3.org/International/tests/html-css/test-suite-html4.php and in the left column i see

[[
Data generated from current spec source

i18n-html4 test suite index

1 Character encoding

1.1 Basic tests

1.2 Precedence

1.3 Escapes

2 Text direction

2.1 Bidi algorithm in HTML (no markup)

2.2 Unicode control characters

2.2 Basic block markup tests

2.3 Basic inline markup tests
]]

However when I click on submit, i get an error message:

"ERROR: Section parent id changed, need to remap test links"

I don't know what that means. I tried reloading the manifest and repeating, but I get the same result.

This is a possible condition when spec sections get rearranged. The import script is detecting the condition and aborting because the code to handle this circumstance hasn't been written yet.

Note that I expect files such as test-suite-html4.php to grow regularly as I add new tests. This may, from time to time, also involve some reorganization of sections.

What I would like to be able to do is blitz the old spec sections and replace with the latest version.

(That would also require me to regenerate and overwrite the manifest, of course.)

Wait, hang on a sec. The sections data is for sections of a _specification_, not the test suite.

The individual tests should be linked to the relevant sections of the specifications that they are testing (the <link rel='help' ... /> in the test metadata).

The sections import is only to be used to list all the targets of those links in their relevant specifications.
