There is no compelling reason to invent and use the new term "Obsolete but conforming" instead of the old and well-known term "Deprecated".

This issue was already raised in bug 9122 but for procedural reasons I have created this new entry.

Andreas, the co-chairs have stated that a change proposal could be submitted for Issue 106, and it would be re-activated [1].
