Feedback from Hans Muller.

 if the sample text reflected the id of the div it was defined for, the example would be a little easier to understand.  For example:
<div id="orderedExclusion" class=”exclusion” style=”top: 25%; left: 25%;”> 
    This is the orderExclusion DIV. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet... 
</div>

This section also  might be a little clearer if the illustration showed the wrapping context for each of the three divs in the two cases, maybe with an overlay on the layouts.

Added text to each div explaining how the painting order affects the exclusions. Also added a background color to each to show the overlap better.
