Polyglot markup must constraint the content of comments so that they do not start with ">" and do not start with "->". HTML5 imposes the above restrictions but XML does not. http://dev.w3.org/html5/spec/Overview.html#comments http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-xml/#sec-comments
