Update on COGA review of WCAG 3

Discussed AI-generated notes, which present privacy concerns, vs human-generated notes. Reach out to Kevin for guidance on AI notes

ACTION: item: Julie to find out how to get permission for Charli's human note-taker to attend COGA meetings.

Lisa: Suggests outreach to Kevin or others to understand all concerns. John Kirkwood has experience in this space and is available to help. Julie: Human note taking shouldn't be a problem but AI notes would be. Len is offering to take notes without AI on a regular basis. Len mentioned it's hard to scribe and take notes at the same time. There may

be an opportunity to have someone join just for note-taking purposes --Julie to reach out to Charli's note-taker for details.

Len idea for different way to review the remaining sections of WCAG 3

To date, COGA has asked for 1-2 volunteers to review the entire section and draft initial GitHub issues, and aligned on wording during Thursday meetings. Some sections are much longer than others, and the process is taking some time.

Len's "book club idea": We can set up a chunk of provisions to read before Thursday meetings. Instead of 1 person trying to take on the revisions, we can discuss as a group what the GitHub issues could be.

Julie: Recommends factoring in that 1 method may take longer than another. Lisa: Recalls working on the first issue together, and weren't able to finish a single provision after 3 hours. Suggests working meetings where we draft vs just review content.

Tiffany: Capacity issues make it easier to work on smaller sections of work. Buddies / teaming up are helpful. The amount of work is overwhelming.

John: Teaming up is really helpful; it's hard to work on these individually

<julierawe> Jennifer: I feel like the idea of a Claude approach is worth trying. I like being able to use the dedicated meeting time together to collaborate.

Julie requests that Len consider whether we should find another time for the "book club" approach, and how to chunk out the work into smaller sections

<tiffanyburtin> I cannot commit to 3 hours on Thursdays. However, I may be able to make most 1hr meetings if they are afternoon US.

Julie: Wordsmithing issues together takes a very long time. It's much easier to have a draft on hand to refer to.

Julie: recommends continuing the Thursday meetings to resolve open questions but reconsider another time for what remains

List of draft GitHub issues ready for voting by the COGA task force

Lisa: We have a process in place so maybe we want to consider sticking with 1-2 draft reviewers but augmenting it with additional feedback. Group will reevaluate the review process/ consider next steps.

Julie: There are many GitHub issues to vote on. Julie will email about 2 sections (Help & Feedback, Error handling) to review together.

Julie: We can vote on interactive components next week to ensure there isn't too much to read through. As you're voting, add a +1 if you agree with the issue, a minus 1 if you don't, and a 0 if you don't have feedback. Don't add changes in suggested mode at this point.
