Meeting minutes
gerard: Jean-Claude will not be able to be here. he has the proposal but has not responded
debbie: can we do anything before we hear from him?
gerard: we could improve the text and then put it in the right format
debbie: should we look at it now?
gerard: will share screen with the proposal
from the 14th of May
gerard: we should inform the participants in the workshop about this in case they want to participate
dirk: do we have a specific template for the papers?
gerard: we don't have a template for the papers, but we have a template for our proposal
debbie: jean-claude should have a template for the papers
gerard: will ask jean-claude about a paper template
debbie: we'll need the template for when we publish the call
dirk: Springer has an editorial manager where the submitters can upload their papers
debbie: we should have a way that people can look at the CfP
debbie: when we get the feedback, we can make sure the submission machinery is in place
debbie: what can we add to the Call for Papers?
dirk: can we put all the text in normal fonts?
debbie: should we try to sort the topics so they're more grouped?
debbie: should dirk and I take turns polishing the text?
dirk: would like to have a place where we can edit jointly?
dirk: can consolidate these documents and put it in Google Docs
debbie: will take a pass after that
dirk: will look to see if there is an editable version
gerard: will send the .odt version
debbie: we should tell jean-claude not to look at it yet, we're still working
debbie: should we have a goal of having a polished version by our next call?
link to springer guidelines https://
gerard: sent the first version
debbie: we could use some of the workshop website information
dirk: let's try to prepare something for the next time
Voice Interaction Community Group
dirk: complete 1.3 of architecture document
… doesn't make much sense to continue interfaces
debbie: how to close it off?
dirk: can revisit open issues and close as deprecated
debbie: we should add a "status of this document" that it's being closed off
… the same thing could be said for the JROSI, it's become obsolute because of LLM
dirk: comparing grounding work with Kristiina, we could work on those, knowledge graphs
dirk: there's a working group working on knowledge graphs, but they're more interested in structure
… we could invite kristiina once more
dirk: need to find a good time slot
dirk: do you have any other ideas?
debbie: is there an extension of the architecture that we could do?
… robots, multimodal, physical AI?
dirk: someone needs to start and check a bit on those
debbie: will take a look at that
… people are also working on small language models, not sure if there's scope for that work within our group
todos: dirk could be in charge of interfaces, debbie to be in charge of JROSI, dirk will set up call for papers document, then debbie will review that, dirk will look at github issues for architecture, dirk will talk to kristiina to see if she can join us to talk about grounding and knowledge graphs, debbie will look at physical AI and robots
