discussion

[17 people in room, several via zoom]

peter: need to gather attention and correct idea into document, and bring to W3C community for creating concete archivectural design document to be implemented in clients

xxxx1: this distributed map system is quite useful
… we need more effort on this de-centerized map system
… want to understand a bit more, somehow implemented by KDDI as web application with gathering data from various places
… I guess this is not fully distributed for now

takagi: [nods]

xxxx1: not sure how this direction could work within W3C space

peter: as member of open source geospatial consortium, member interested from 1990s, and community placed resources on this kind of area
… efforts gathered incl. getting attention from government

mizushima: [speaked up in Japanese]

takagi: [replied in Japanese]

mizushima: Although Takagi wants to standalize this system, we could form CG with charter stating this architecture, and go into IG or WG could be an option for clarifying goal and getting understanding

dynamis: [ask questions in Japanese]

takagi: I want to discuss use cases and importance of this philosophy, getting W3C standalization may not match with this architecture to go

dynamis: following discussion, clients or browsers could support this architecture more
… its a little complex at large even now, layering or conversion of API, if we propose browser vendor this architecture, we should clearly define key ponints of this

takagi: need to have geo coading in CSS syntax

<PeterR> CSS needs to understand geospatial Coordinate Reference Systems, and especially map zoom / scale

takagi: SVG implements geo coading but stopped in 1.1 Tiny level

dynamis: even for CSS support, we could start with polyfill

takagi: [describes around his service in Japanese]

takagi: creating new CG is not in our rader, instead we would have conversation around this architecture in Maps in thw Web CG

peter: that CG could cover that kind of area, and start research on this architecture

takagi: we need to gather attention and colleagues from around

peter: we have polifill of MapML, as well as for CSS
