How to handle display of the certifier report link: Issue #742
<CharlesL1> preset+
<AvneeshSingh> w3c/
Gregorio: Recaped the information in the issue. The problem is that different systems have different ways to show the link.
The suggestion from matt is to use[string with link]
Gregorio: We may be overengineering this.
George: we may use something similar to markdown
Gregorio: We already have this information. The question is how to identify the string versus the URL?
Charles: We are overthink this.
<gpellegrino> +1
We should just have the URL as something the user can bring up.
Avneesh: We should have more than certifer report.
Miik: Agrees with Charles.
Avneesh: Decision: our recommendation is to apply the link to the whole sentence
the proposal is to make the whole string as a link
"For more information refer to the certifier's report" as a link
Consider Question and Answer as a role: Issue #740
<AvneeshSingh> w3c/
Role for Question and answers.
George: we have a role for q-and-a
… we don't have an individual question role
… and an individual answer role
… and people are looking for it
Avneesh: Matt said it was proposed in the past and rejected. Should we try again?
<LC> What would having a role for this do for people?
George:
George: Answer is needed for workbooks.
George: it's needed for workbooks, without that it's difficult to make workbooks
George: APA people will say use a form with a lable.
<LC> What does having a role help with, though?
Avneesh: We need to work on use cases before we propose it.
<Simon_M> I assume the idea is to help AT users work through exercises?
Charles: JATS has semantics in this space. That is in JATS 1.4.
Vince: QTI, mentioned in the comments, has more sophisticated approach.
Gregorio: ED publishers have identified several roles that are missing. This was put in the PMWG issue.
Having an exercise role would be very useful.
<LC> Where are the links that were mentioned?
Charles: We have doc-example. What would be the use case?
Charles: A student would want to get to the exercise and the read the question and then move to the answer.
Gregorio: a stronger need.is that exercises are embedded in the text. We have no way of capturing the semantics of this type of content.
Laura: Thinking of workbooks. would each of the thousands of items need a unique label?
Laura Would a student then just get question, question, question, which is maaningless.
Charles: It would be up to the AT to present the information.
Laura: It could impact authoring practices.
Avneesh: We need use cases and then figure out the path forward.
Avneesh: We should put the use case in issue and can collect them there..
Avneesh: We can have many use cases.
Charles: Should we reach out to Mark Hakkinen and/or One Ed Tech. They will have use cases?
Avneesh: We should send this to Mark.

Avneesh: Page source issues. Should we just close this?
Charles: both can be closed and Charles will merge the PR.
