<rashmi> Color pattern https://
Lisa shares her screen regarding Rashmi's draft : Color
<rashmi> New pattern name: Use color to aid orientation and focus
Good and bad colors are subjective. e.g. Red is bad but good in some cultures.
For example, use colors to differentiate between different subsites and sections.
what to do: how not to dictate to designers etc...
Rashmi covers the section on : Use color to aid orientation This includes
2. Focusing attention to the key task. For example Use color to help users find the content they are looking for or need (also called findability).
3. Do not overload the use of color which can cause cognitive overload or difficulty focusing
4. Color can affect emotions. Do not alarm users or cause anxiety by using stressful colors when there is no risk to the users wellbeing or safety.
5. Use a strong contrast for icons, controls and text
6. Do support personalization of colors

Rashi asks if color helps with validation?
a types of "human" validation - Jennie
<kirkwood> well said. human issue
Gareth: brings up not using color alone to highlight a point, area etc
<tiffanyburtin> John I put the AI assisted overview in another tab in the Suggestions for the next version of Making Content Usable so we do not lose the information. I have made a note that all the information should be validated by a human.
Tiffany mentions she always human verifies chatgpt research
<kirkwood> I like the tab

<tiffanyburtin> +1 I like the bullet points and feel it is a good start
<Gareth> +1

Lisa clarifies that we are not dictating what colors to use, its merely a guide
<Zakim> Jennie, you wanted to discuss question for John
Clarification over Orientation in a site
Document updated
We like the bullets but undecided on "Identity"
<tiffanyburtin> I believe that Identity can be established by consistency of use of colors and it is one aspect of validating an identity.
