Import PDF Association spreadsheet into HTML tables
Zach: We've been talking on the PDF Association side. I think we should do this in smaller chunks
… Hard for some of them to monitor this through HTML tables
… Decidded we'd be doing 10 - 12 table exports, as I can run my export scripts through smaller batches
… We've been working on our ssheet to match with the values on the HTML tables
… Idea is to start from structural values
… Saw some of your comments, for example the ToC repeated six times
… Paul, what structure elements you think are good to import?
Paul: Document, list, table, paragraph, figure, figure formula,
Zach: Also ones that we are sure of the mappings.
… These would help ups get an established process
Daniel: +1 to low-hanging fruits
Zach: This will also help us determine the roles and attributes from the individual tables
… We still don't have one complete on the W3C document, priority should be to have some complete
Paul: PDF association next meeting is 20 May. I have in the agenda to have a look at what I've done and look for a path forward
Zach: I still can use the export sccript to get an 80% completion of what needs to be on the W3C documents
Daniel: +1 to go for those which are complete. Could you share a link to your working spreadsheet?
Zach: I've removed a few columns from the old one to just what is required
… As we got more feedback from you all at the W3C side we've realized some of this infor was not needed
… Also the postprocessing of the index file adds some of the info and we weren't aware of that
Zach: People are used to working on the spreadsheet, so we need to find a middle ground
Zach: Maybe we should first focus on paragraph and div. For div there are several cases, similarly to what the `a` element has in HTML
Paul: Should we include one more where there is not an HTML but not an ARIA role?
Zach: Yes, that's a good one
Zach: Maybe for next PDF association meeting we should focus on creating these HTML tables and have them ready for next W3C meeting
