AG chairs request to close out old Silver issues

https://github.com/w3c/silver/issues?q=is%3Aissue%20state%3Aopen%20label%3A%22survey%20%3A%20ready%20for%22&page=1

Per Chuck's April 1st email: "These issues are four or more years old, and can be closed because either the issue has been addressed in the current WCAG 3 draft or the issue has become irrelevant due to changes of content in the WCAG 3 draft."

I looked through the list and none are tagged as being "COGA" issues

I wanted to alert the group about this AG request. I feel comfortable replying to Chuck's email with a +1

<tiffanyburtin> w3c/silver#346

tiffanyburtin I appreciate Rachael's comments in ticket 346 about normative and informative

kirkwood I use AI to grab all the text and ask a question like "What are the controversial cognitive accessibility issues here that need to be resolved?"

tiffanyburtin There are some intelligent ways to carefully use AI

tiffanyburtin If we've had trusted humans go through and have not raised concerns...

julierawe I don't have time to go through these in detail, but I'm trusting that the AG chairs would have flagged us.

New items to add to the COGA tracking doc for WCAG 3 pathways

tiffanyburtin I feel stressed out at the only COGA person in Text appearance

tiffanyburtin We have COGA assignments and AG assignments and it's hard to keep up

tiffanyburtin I had several conversations at CSUN where several people wanted black or white, no squishy.

tiffanyburtin I told them to read Making Content Usable and they were open to it, they want to understand

tiffanyburtin I talked to several AG members at CSUN who are interested in helping with the next version of Making Content Usable

tiffanyburtin Our goal is more informative than normative

tiffanyburtin My only concern is that some individuals from AG will want to make it more normative

julierawe The good news is that WCAG 3 allows assertions

kirkwood It takes a lot of intelligent writing to make assertions less wishy-washy

kirkwood My suggestion is to propose how to involve AG people in a way they feel like they can contribute and empower them to move forward

tiffanyburtin Dr Angela Young is joining COGA—currently in APA and excited to work with us.

tiffanyburtin I took part of Content Usable and put it into ChatGPT with a prompt to write an assertion as an accessibility expert

julierawe We have recommended and can re-recommend that each WCAG 3 group looks at Making Content Usable

tiffanyburtin It seems like we need to do this kind of reminder every six months because of the influx of new people

julierawe The Plain Language team is working on a very robust assertion with lots of components. We have reached out to Jeanne Spellman for feedback.

kirkwood We could suggest a "COGA and Coffee" time, maybe once a month or weekly, to give COGA folks an opportunity to ask questions and talk informally.

kirkwood It could help as people are feeling overwhelmed. Informal way to provide support and help people move forward.

kirkwood It's like going to a conference and the most important things are the brief conversations that happen in the hallway
