Bruce: not sure the difference between the two agenda emails sent on Friday

Rm: is none,

<Zakim> bruce_bailey, you wanted to ask if agenda update just fixed the link?

<bruce_bailey> Okay, the second one just had the invite attached.

DJ: I haven't read them. But don't want to lose them.

<DJ> +1 that makes sense; thanks Chuck

Chuck: we won't lose them. They are 2 years or older and did an update that addressed them.

<alastairc> Not lost, but as "closed" we wouldn't be actively looking at them. The closing message also tells people they can re-open them if they think the issue is still relevant.

Rm: this is part of managing our work.
... you can close your own issues if they have been addressed.

<Rachael> akc Chuck

Mary Jo: one issue I left open. Not sure how to handle it.

<Zakim> Chuck, you wanted to say I will move that one over into the WCAG 3 repository

Chuck: No need for a new issue. I can move it.

RESOLUTION: Close Silver issues at https://github.com/w3c/silver/issues?q=is%3Aissue%20state%3Aopen%20label%3A%22survey%20%3A%20ready%20for%22 as proposed

Rm: you have 3 days to review.

WCAG 2.2 issues review https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-gl/2025JanMar/0033.html

Gregg: When an issue is closed is the reporter notified?

Rm: yes

MG: I'm with the backlog TF.

<Rachael> Process: https://github.com/w3c/wcag/wiki/WCAG-2-Task-Force-process#Approval-process-for-changes

MG: Process: people open issues. To do > In progress> Draft > Send to WG > for discussion >Done
... Trying to get errata clarified.
... Sharing project board

<bruce_bailey> https://github.com/orgs/w3c/projects/56

Amend definition of motion animation to *not* exclude blurring #4040 https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/4040

scribe: has good support.
... not a lot of change in this one.
... file change is in the guidelines.
... this is an example of errata but it is an example.

<bruce_bailey> Mike was screen sharing and reading from WCAG 2.2 section 5.1: https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG22/#interpreting-normative-requirements

scribe: recommending a new label
... word "blurring" was removed.

Gregg: the example is not an example. It is an improper definition.
... It is a statement of fact and it has no business in an example.

<toddl> So shouldn't this be addressed in Github itself as a comment instead of using up meeting time here?

Gregg: this one is not tagged as informative or normative but substantive.
... re: blurring could be an exception.

<bruce_bailey> Diff for 4040 is https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/4040/files

Mg: add your concerns in the issue.

<bruce_bailey> Please see the original issue and conversation thread on PR

Mg: we don't have an informative label yet.
... advocating adding another label.
... Wanted to flag this issue and process.

Rm: Mike, you can just the labels as you see fit.

MG: Harmonise spelling for "breakpoint" #4165<https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/4165> erratum raised.

Gregg: This is just a typo.

<bruce_bailey> Diff for 4165, which Mike is screen sharing and speaking to: https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/4165/files

MG: We run everything by the WG.

Proposed substantive changes: Update text-spacing.html #4125 https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/4125

scribe: Suggested additional note for focus-not-obscured #4104 substantive https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/4104
... Move H28 from sufficient to advisory in 3.1.4 Abbreviations SC #4195 https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/4195
... Proposed editorial changes (small improvements to language intended to clarify existing guidance). Updated 2.5.8 Target Size (Minimum) Understanding Doc to add more clarity to the User agent control bit in Exceptions #4196 ...https: //github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/4196

<bruce_bailey> Use “Files Changed” link to get the diff on a PR.

Path update https://github.com/w3c/wcag3/wiki

Rm: Wiki is our central location. It has been updated.
... explains Wiki organization

<bruce_bailey> Rachael -- I just added the “Questions from subgroup” column to the Pathways spreadsheet.

Rm: keep everything organized by path.
... put unused docs in historic.
... each subgroup has its own space.
... subgroup handbook has been updated.
... timelines are helpful.
... 4 weeks per requirement

<ShawnT> The WCAG 3 Subgroup Handbook: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ByDvegN1EpA1rSWXPUAWmX_MGgXJlIgm/edit#heading=h.gjdgxs

Rm: we are in week 2 but some groups may be in week one.
... It has a Template for guidelines & Decision Tree examples

<Rachael> https://github.com/w3c/wcag3/wiki/Guideline-List

rm: Mark https://github.com/w3c/wcag3/wiki/Guideline-List
... groups should have at least 3 active individuals.
... informal sub group discussion.

<bruce_bailey> https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cxiE1rfpmYs0fmS1CDyRGq-_-_mTghz7vRlGcAhgWLc/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.uupz9xf2m4rg

Bruce: Keyboard is meeting

Thursdays at 11

scribe: added a column for questions,
... Hover Information is not navigation and not an Input (but we don’t have a suggestion as to what path it belongs to).
... Restore Focus and Relevant Focus seem specific to keyboard input.

Does anyone have mouse/touchscreen examples?

Gregg: It is okay or can you add keyboard.
... over seems to be around perception

Rm: you can rename them and refine.
... the hover information is some kind of interaction.
... chairs will look into this.

<bruce_bailey> Inputs subgroup is tackling lines 98 through 121 in the Paths spreadsheet.

<bruce_bailey> https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ecg9qFIUVCUQfAPgNSEZ8MmsCSjbAynK8hbGBU8NrzQ/

GN: document is called input.
... It is confusing.

RM: the names arbitrary

Gregg: it is a change in content.

Detlev: In the past it hhhas been dealt with in one SC.

<Zakim> Chuck, you wanted to update Help, Errors...

<bruce_bailey> WCAG 2.2 SC 1.4.13 https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG22/#content-on-hover-or-focus

Chuck: insufficient participation in help errors feedback and triggers Sub Group.

Gregg: if we have new members should have a chair involved in Sub Group.

<Zakim> Chuck, you wanted to say there is a chair presently assigned to help, errors....

Chuck: I am the chair assigned to that group.

<GreggVan> +1

Scott: assumed there would be overlap between groups.
... and we would sync up in the end. Is that correct?
... Number of requirements seem to have overlap.

<Chuck> scribe+ Chuck

Scott: 332 seems to be missing.

<julierawe> Plain Language: I will join the breakout room in a minute—be right back

<Chuck> Rachael: subgroups are empowered to make changes. We know that there are relationships among our work that overlaps with other subgroups. Please come to this meeting and report on the overlaps, and we can encourage the conversations as part of the prep for the breakouts.

<Chuck> Scott: We will make a point to do so.

<DJ> Laura_Carlson: Welcome!
