Meeting minutes

[new-ish] [daniel] aria#2374 Enabling suggestions to update pull request branches

dmontalvo: didn't want to turn this on without asking.
… I think it's a good option.

spectranaut_: can we do this by rebasing?

dmontalvo: yes.

spectranaut_: let's do it.

all: +1

[new-ish] [james] aria#2226 remove spec specific css or inline it

jamesn: yeah, I never got to it. If someone wants it sooner, please make a PR.
… quick fix would be removing them an inlining the relevant ones, eliminate or adjust colors.

pkra: CSS light-dark is probably reasonable already.
… I'll keep this on the agenda.

[new-ish] core-aam#238 Consider listing known downstream AT support in AAMs

pkra: we discussed this last time, wanting to give it more time.

jamesn: let's skip to next meeting..
… I think it's more appropriate for ARIA than core-aam

pkra: I feel like it's more caniuse-like.
… but that's hard to maintain.

scotto: I worry it's hard to define what "supported" means.

jamesn: it seems before we can do this, we'd need to decide what we expect to do with something.

pkra: it feels like APG territory. ARIA is about flexibility and sometimes unusual patterns. Think about how activeDescendants enables complex behavior like data viz. That's hard to reflect.

spectranaut_: there's a recent comment from Aaron.

scott: I spoke to him about it a bit.
… he documents a lot of the decision processes he's involved in. Without them it's hard to tell what the history of a feature idea is.

[question: re-open?] aria#2048 deprecating aria-errormessage

pkra: I just wanted to double check that there's nothing left in the discussion we might want to pursue elsewhere.

spectranaut_: I think it's ok closed

scott: maybe we should open APG issue to document things better.

pkra: I can open one.

[updated] [peter] aria#2338 - PR on wiki archiving

scotto: we can archive the css-aam page

jamesn: I've removed my page

spectranaut_: let's archive the hidden tests but not use "test"

pkra: will do and then merge.

[daniel] PR #2288 : Fix commit log for specs with monorepo

dmontalvo: the agendum title is not quite right. this PR is about the participants

spectranaut_: I have to re-review

pkra: I have to review

jamesn: I have to get back to the contributor issue.

dmontalvo: the netlify preview works statically now.
… it wasn't working with dynamic respec

spectranaut_: this looks good.

pkra: should we review the preview HTML carefully?

dmontalvo: it should work but sure.

pkra: looks good. It's different sets of contributors.

jamesn: right that's unfortunately because it's not quite right yet. it's actually pulling in the old repositories.
… hence my respec work to get it to pull in subfolder structure.
… I have respec backend worked out. the web components was failing for ARIA only.

pkra: let's merge this though?

jamesn: yes. we should make an issue for the other part if there isn't one already.

pkra: i'll merge and file an issue if I can't find it.
