Open action items

Steven: I got little done in the past month, but I have done a few action items.

Steven: I believe I've resolved my issues with GitHub.

Steven: I've drafted a PR for #263, will make a pull request.

Norm: will work with BTW on the XML vocabulary documentation

Steven: We will have to drop 2024-04-16a

2024-04-16-b is completed

2024-04-16-c is completed

Norm will investigate 2024-04-30-a, status is unclear

2024-04-30-b continues

Status reports

Steven: W3C had a meeting about the status of community groups. Both Norm and I planned to attend, but failed to.
… I tried to work out what the issues were. From the IRC script, they want to make sure that groups are actually doing things, and things that further the W3C mission.
… and also they seem to think that it's important that specifications make their way into the normal standards track.

Norm: Wat? They closed the XML Activity!

Steven: I'm just going to wait to see if they say anything about it.

Steven: The other thing I wanted to report is that we have a new implementation from xsltforms.
… It looks like a good implementation.
… So we now have two in JavaScript.

Steven: Nothing else to report.
… Well, I could say that at the end of the week I did a half hour talk at XML Summer School.
… I've also been asked to do the tutorial at Declarative Amsterdam again.

Norm: I have nothing to report.

Bethan: I have to submit my PhD corrections in three weeks, more after that!

Issue #262

invisibleXML/ixml#262

Shall we merge it?

Agreement.

Issue #268

Norm: There are lots of "name" characters in XML that aren't in iXML.

Steven: I once proposed that our renaming proposal could include a string.
… On the right hand side of ">" you have either a name or a string.

Bethan: Would you need names, aren't they strings?

Steven: They've always been the same syntax until now.

Norm: With the normative note that the string has to conform to an XML name.

ACTION: SP to try out the renaming to a string.

ACTION: NTW to draft prose that expands on the discrepancy in names between iXML and XML.

ACTION: NTW to draft a document that describes the discrepancy in more detail.

ACTION: NTW to make sure that pragmas are on the agenda for next time.

Steven: I fixed #250, it'll be in my upcoming pull request.

Steven: #168 is really v.next, not an issue on the current spec

Steven: #75 is also v.next

Issue #266

General agreement that we should fix the tests.

ACTION: SP to review the ixml tests and correct the grammar

Issue #139

Steven: I think we agreed to include both versions of the RFC grammar, the literal translation of the ABNF and the one I did that provides more structure.

ACTION: SP to make a PR to add his version to the repsoitory.

Any other business?
