Welcome & Introductions (As needed)

<janina> All old hands today!

Continued Capabilities Development https://a11yedge.github.io/capabilities/

janina: Can auto-play videos pause be automatable?
… after discussion, in some cases

Jason: We can't just say it is automatable, we should say how it is automatable

Jason: Discussing the difference between personalization and DOM changes
… CSS personalization is something that the browser knows how to do
… one form of technology is changing the client-side code
… another kind of technology is enabling users to change browser preferences

Lionel: Personalization is almost 95% CSS changes

Jason: You are manipulating the CSS, you are not changing the CSS

Lionel: When Jason says, 'can I fix code after source' is different from 'can I offer a button to end users to change contrast'

Janina: Next week we discuss only automatability until we finish that pass

Janina: Next agenda, we discuss whether we will keep the "at source" and "tradeoffs"
… we also need to read through our H2s and H3s
… then at some point we can integrate Lionel's edits, either paragraph by paragraph or as a whole

Chris: In the effort to make more accessibility available to a user through the automation and CSS customization
… it would be helpful to remind people that they have set their defaults a certain way
… prevent 'brain lock' and lead to users thinking they are committed to the settings that they have

FYI

Chris: Outside of current discussion but want to share before meeting comes to close :
