Guidance document for accessibility summary

https://htmlpreview.github.io/?https://github.com/w3c/publ-a11y/blob/main/drafts/schema-a11y-summary/index.html

avneesh: let start with accessibility summary

<Bill_Kasdorf> me/ again I don't have the correct zoom link. Can somebody send it or put it in the IRC please? Sorry about my pathetic calendar situation.

GeorgeK: what i did was put in some values in the fetaures table so there's simple language about what you should be doing and why...
… do we want to continue with that approach?

GeorgeK: more exemples are needed in the table (ruby annotations, hazard, etc.)...

gpellegrino: the second column title (suggested summary) may be changed for a more clear title

<Bill_Kasdorf_> I suggest "Example summaries"

gautier: I have a use case for feature braille, the CBFU (french braille code)

gautier: in that case more information could be done for type of braille.

<Bill_Kasdorf_> Benetech/Bookshare routinely provides described math

CharlesL: describedMath is for images of math with alt text

Naomi: displayTransformability I have use cases : reflowable epub with titles as images or table as image should indicate that display transformability is not fully possible (even if they are accessible by alt text)

<Bill_Kasdorf_> I have a client who puts Latex in their EPUBs

gautier: longdescription could indicate how they are implemented (details/ annexe, etc.)

George: mathML should detail if it's all math included as mathml (or only partial)

avneesh: if mathMl is used for chemistry, it should also be stated

<Bill_Kasdorf_> Another common distinction: Display math is provided as MathML, in-text math is plain text.

Bill_Kasdorf_: I have seevral use cases, and i recomand them to say plain text math instead of ASCII or UTF8 that is expert language

gpellegrino: i suggest to add some style to this table and remove the accessibilityFeature= redondancy

CharlesL: let discuss the other features by email

AvneeshSingh: tactile graphique and tactile object can disapear of this table

Further Feedback for MARC crosswalk.

MARC crosswalk

<CharlesL> https://w3c.github.io/publ-a11y/drafts/a11y-crosswalk-MARC/index.html

chrisoliverottawa: i don't see activity on the immediate future. We've discussed with other experts, we want to keep in touch. We're preparing a position paper for more granularity of marc21. Someone from CELIA done a survey on accessibility metadata use and needs. She'll probably share it soon...
… we see diferent pushs on the subject, we'll comeback on the agenda if we see some modifications to do in the crosswalk

chrisoliverottawa: it's fine to have this crosswalk still as a draft. Many persons have seen it, it brings discussions but in the library world there are many things actually. There will surely be movement in the coming year...

AvneeshSingh: can we make it a recomandation? (this mean it's better to not have too much changes after)

chrisoliverottawa: it will take a couple of years to move. We will use the crosswalk to support discussion papers. It may become more granular, so changes will be + not less.
