Meeting minutes

Minutes

<kaz> Aug-22

no objections to publishing

Next meeting

McCool: extend to 2 hours
… to try and clear the issue tracker queue

Farshid: Sep 5th is a public holiday in some countries
… but it doesn't affect many of the usual participants

McCool: will hold the meeting regardless

Issues / PRs

McCool: I've checked existing issues and labelled them to speedup processing

PR 394

McCool: Replace TM's required with optional field

https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/pull/394

Farshid: the things property is left as required, everything else optional

McCool: we should probably remove the # if the syntax is JSONPointer

mm: (adds some edits)
… added trailing "/"

(merged)

PR 394 (revisited)

McCool: several improvements
… incl. addition of links to WD in implementation report

no objections to merge

merged

PR401 - DID service names

https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/pull/401

McCool: few improvements and correction to DID
… replaced deprecated instances of "Directory Description" with "Thing Description Directory"
… added a section for DID service name registration

McCool: the DID group is no longer active, we need to make a PR in some repo to get it registered

Kaz: we should contact the new DID working group for the registrations

McCool: will merge this PR and create another issue for the registration

Farshid: shouldn't it be WoTThing instead of WotThing

McCool: this camel case spelling was suggested by DID members
… it is odd, but changing it requires too much effort

PR400 - Fix content type specifically

https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/pull/400

McCool: this is to clarify td+json and ld+json assertions

PR399 - Fix 3x rule

https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/pull/399

McCool: no security call today. Would like to merge and discuss it in the next security call

no objections to merging

merged

PR395 - Reduce restrictions on error codes for unsupported features

https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/pull/395

McCool: normative change. Let's discuss next week

Issue 392 - Remove Editor's notes in DNS-SD

https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/issues/392

<kaz> Inquiry from the IANA reviewer

McCool: the registration request was rejected because the text isn't very clear on what needs to be registered
… created issue to describe the problems that we need to address: https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/issues/403

Toumura: will look into this issue

Kaz: we can ask others who have worked on DNS-SD registration about the correct way to do this
