<janina> scribe+ Sheri reads through blog draft -- starting with a TLDR
<janina> sheri: need to objectively measure steps toward a11y over time
<janina> sheri: emphasis is on our value add
<janina> sheri: most info also came from the doc itself, with a few edits
<janina> sheri: e.g. no one department is responsibility; calls out multiple aspects and processes
<janina> sheri: emphasis: measuribility and repeatability
<janina> sheri: notes other maturity models have worked for other topic areas
<janina> sheri: we help identify gaps and performance over time
<janina> sheri: Note that snapshots are not sufficient, because you don't have a tracelog over time, i.e. root cause analysis
<janina> sheri: prevent problems, not just fix what's happened
<janina> sheri: call to action
<janina> dfazio: do we want to try to differentiate from other maturity models
<janina> sheri: no, because it's too much in the weeds to do that; this is already longer than most
<janina> sheri: focus of blog is what value we add in addition to WCAG
<janina> brian: a few questions ...
<janina> brian: understand ability to assess that an organization produces, but also internal accessibility, emails, presentations?
<janina> sheri: Absolutely! Points to the Communications Section that points both to external and internal communications
<janina> dfazio: That was one of our early goals
<janina> dfazio: Our scope restraint is that W3C is web
<janina> sheri: Once we finish, I'll post to the required wiki
<janina> sheri: Obviously the blog will have a URI eventually
<janina> sheri: There's also an email
<janina> sheri: continues through the other message types required

David called for last comments on the draft messaging
Maryjo thinks the blog is too long
Maryjo suggests its repetitive of document itself
Sheri said this was intentional to gain interest to go into the document and read the rest
Sheri also added TL;DR for people who don't want to read the whole thing
David - we should condense, but use outside editing resources
David - move it forward but monitor the folx who are doing the editing to make sure nothing essential gets cut
Maryjo - in the future, want more time to review before we push it along
Sheri takes responsibility for the delay, promises to do better in the future
Janina - propose edits in email string because not everyone has access to the announcement drafts page
RESOLUTION: Move forward with messaging

Brian's team has questions, will work with Sheri and David
Janina - process caution, it's an early draft it will change. However, early comments are super helpful
Brian - proof points have wiggle room
David - that was intentional
Sheri - everyone has different types of evidence that they have accomplished a particular outcome
Brian - let's use captions in the future
