housekeeping

<kaz> June-15

McCool: let's review the minutes of the last call

(some typo changes)
… no objections, approved

<kaz> (typos fixed)

McCool: Sebastian is unavailable for the TD call today, McCool will chair the call

quick update

DTDL meeting

<kaz> DTDL meeting on June 21

McCool: we had a DTDL overview call with a presentation from Erich from Microsoft
… a follow up is planned in 3-4 weeks

Erich: July 19th works best

McCool: will create a calendar invite
… we agreed the goal is interconversion between TDs and DTDL
… discussed a testfest / plugfest project
… not yet planned, could be before TPAC
… identify spec gaps, potentially topics for the new charter
… time series database query could be important
… we could have a small group working on that, need to discuss

<McCool> https://www.w3.org/2022/06/21-wot-uc-minutes.html

Lagally: let's review the call notes within this week and publish next week

McCool: spatial data on the web: There's some overlab between OGC, SDW-WG, ETSI is also working on geolocation
… we need to figure out what to do
… we will talk with them tomorrow, if you are interested you can join
… call is 1 hour after this slot (1pm UTC)

Kaz: anybody from this group can join?

McCool: as a guest, we should notify the chairs first
… there should be an wntry in the W3C calendar

charter extension

McCool: we got all notes we needed, it was a bit tight, feel free to vote additionally
… 2 suggestions: remove 2.0 from the charter

cancellations

marketing is cancelled on June 28th
… other cancellations? none.

TPAC

McCool: we had a doodle to find a good time, we have some results

Erich: I may be on an industrial fair in Chicago

McCool: we can schedule something the week before
… the doodle is for joint meetings, we should nail down the time slots to get the best slots
… need to figure out which joint calls we should schedule
… DID, JSON-LD, Automotive, anything else?
… for the next charter, if we do time series databases, cached data, is there a group for that?

Erich: OPC-UA?

McCool: this is primarily for W3C groups
… we have ~4 hours so we are already pretty full
… please register asap
… there's an early bird fee

Kaz: there are 2 kinds of meetings. group meetings and meetings with other groups
… we can also have breakout sessions for discussions with other SDOs

McCool: we could also consider demos
… breakouts are on Wednesday?

Kaz: I think so

McCool: we could do breakouts for some of the jont calls

<kaz> Dom's message on demos (member-only)

McCool: probably next week I have more info, we can follow up then

wide review

McCool: we have many reviews in flight, architecture, TD, ...
… profiles are still in progress
… I have a PR, will discuss in the TD call today
… we have 2 outstanding CR candidates
… architecture + discovery: next week we will make resolution for publishing both
… discovery may get a PR from the main branch to the CR candidate

Kaz: Editors are encouraged to check the documents using the checkers after generating the static version (I can of course help it, though)

McCool: everybody make sure to have the markup clean

schedule

McCool: there's a potential conflict for DTDL and test fest

<kaz> extension plan

testing

McCool: I cleaned up my script, there's some things to be cleaned up with <span>
… I will fix my PR for profile and merge it
… we are still missing implementation descriptions and testimonials
… these are less critical by CR, but we need them for PR
… I will reach out to individual people
… they need to check with their AC rep
… some issues with "policy" assertions, these are not testable

Kaz: we should check the current status of impl. of normative specs

McCool: (explains structure of testing report)
… we have to get implementations for all at risk items - if we don't, the at-risk items have to be removed from the spec
… if you want to work on sth, please create a PR
… if you have suggestions for the next charter, please let us know

Sebastian: there'll be a meeting for OPC-UA collab planned for next Friday
… there'll be discussion whether we need a new MOU

McCool: this is a meeting to get organized, if you are interested please join

Sebastian: perhaps we should use a bit of time in the next main call to talk about the plan for the meeting

Kaz: my understanding was to have a chair level conversation but we can accept people from the whole group if interested?

Sebastian: yes, I also added a link

McCool: have not heard back from ITU-T
… there's another meeting in July
… any updates on Echonet?

Kaz: working with the japanese CG
… regarding IEC SC 3D, I've been talking with chairs, on July 22nd will hold joint discussion again. I'll bring the updates back to this group.
… this is related to ontology definition and kind of like the relationship with OPC and DTDL.

McCool: we have to discuss semantic annotations

Kaz: similar to Echonet, at some point we should invite to use case or main call to understand more

McCool: periodic updates would be useful
… IETF (Ari) was interested in yesterday's use cases call

WoT CG

McCool: CG charter does not include web page at this point, defer the discussion

TF quick updates

Lagally: profile has a lot of new issues that require active work and contributions. Please provide input and review to these issues, check whether you can contribute with a PR

McCool: aob?
