Meeting minutes

Training Dimension

SBH: Jake, do we include the training in each individual dimension or just link to the training dimension directly?

JA: I think training applies everywhere

<sheri_b-h> All training pertaining to this dimension should be reflected in the Knowledge and Skills dimension

SBH: I propose putting a sentence in each dimension

Jeff: I don't think we should have definitions in line.

SBH: Hold that thought, we are going to finish the training topic first

SBH: Mary Jo proposes that if you don't have training, then you are a zero

JEff: In Knowledge & Skills we could put in a statement that people know that it is general, then we could put individual training detail in each dimension. Then KNowleddge & Skills could be for the organization as a whole.

SBH: We have not voted in favor of this in the past, because of the repetition.
… we need to be consistent. It can't be both.

<sheri_b-h> Training programs have been established and ongoing to ensure necessary skills for this dimension.

<sheri_b-h> (that was Jeff's proposal)

SBH: All the details about what is required for training should be in the Knowledge & Skills section

Placement of definitions

SBH: Janina, can we have multiple glossaries

JSa: APA is proposing a WAI-wide glossary. None of this is fully decided.
… it's a different direction that what you are asking

SBH: I am proposing to put all the definitions in a top definitions section, and then we can have a local definitions section

JSa: Or you can cross-reference them

Editing Changes

SBH: I made a lot of editing changes and put everything in alphabetical order

<sheri_b-h> Modifications or adjustments made to the environment, technology, or equipment that enables an individual with a disability to gain access and successfully complete tasks.

JK: How do we define environment? Would going to an HR person with a request count as environment.

SBH: It doesn't matter if it is environment. If the accommodation is having the florescent lightbulbs removed, it is still an accommodation.

JK: I think it still difficult to understand

<sheri_b-h> Modifications or adjustments made to technology, or equipment that enables an individual with a disability to gain access and successfully complete tasks.

<sheri_b-h> Modifications or adjustments that enables an individual with a disability to gain access and successfully complete tasks.

… human intervention or human support"

<sheri_b-h> Modifications or adjustments that may require human intervention that enables an individual with a disability to gain access and successfully complete tasks.

The report's format is based on the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT™). ACRs are used by buyers to understand how accessible a product is, and any potential deficiencies.

JSp: I'm concerned that we are calling out VPAT as the basis of ACR. It is very US centric.

JK: It's a widely accepted standard

MJM: It isn't used in Europe. They are allowed to use other reports

JSa: We will hear about it in wide review

SBH: We have to be careful about that.

MJM: But we have used them to file reports globally

JSa: Crosslink the definitions
