Meeting minutes

agenda

<kaz> Extension plan

Kaz: note that we need to think about the updated publication timeline again.

minutes

<kaz> Mar-10

Lagally: let's review March 10 minutes...
… looked at draft impl report, merged three PRs, looked at some issues, terminology, scripting API (partial TD)

Lagally: if no objections...
… approved

schedule

<kaz> Extension plan

Kaz: we need to update this every couple of weeks
… CR candidate is March 30, probably too close, let's review at end of call

PR 723

<mlagally> PR 723 - Answers to Security and Privacy Questionnaire

McCool: need to fix directory, give me a sec

Implementation report

PR 707 - WIP: Implementation Report

McCool: need to do some update for the script
… not really ready for review yet
… but Editors to start to review it
… maybe need to talk about sections of assertions

Lagally: all the TDs are not necessarily for TD 1.1

McCool: reasonable to see compatibility as well
… 2 sections for testimonials

Lagally: how to handle implementations from non-Members?

McCool: there are issues of categorizations as well
… we're not asking for testimonials
… (from non-Members?)

Lagally: for example, we should remove SmartThings, who already left W3C

McCool: can delete the resources

Lagally: yes, please delete the resources for non-Members

McCool: on the other hand, how to deal with compatibility tests is an issue

Lagally: (goes through the assertions)

assertions.csv

Lagally: (also shows the Issue 725 to check the progress)

Issue 725 - Implementation report - remaining tasks

Lagally: (adds several new check points)

check points

Rendered version of the draft implementation report

Lagally: who should be listed as the Editors?

McCool: should remove people who have already left

Kaz: Editors should be those who edit the document
… people who made contributions for implementations should be Contributors

tou: Editors of the Architecture spec should be included

Lagally: agree

McCool: will update it
… Michael Lagally, Matsukura-san, Toumura-san and myself

Matsukura: would like to make contribution but I'm not really active recently...

McCool: you could add implementation reports

Lagally: if you could provide an updated report...

McCool: there is a template on the wot-testing repo

Matsukura: ok
… will provide additional information

Lagally: need to ask ERCIM about their contribution

McCool: should ask all the previous contributors about their intention

Lagally: (updates the check points issue)

contributions

PR 722

<kaz> PR 722 - Merge "4. Device Categories" section into "3. Terminology" section

Lagally: move device categories to terminology: merged

PR 721

<kaz> PR 721 - Change "Thing Directory" to "Thing Description Directory"

Lagally: updates Thing Description Directory terminology

PR 720

<kaz> PR 720 - Update list of editors

Lagally: revise list of editors - merging

PR 701

<kaz> PR 701 - Update Implementation Report link in SOTD

McCool: do we want to use report11 or report?

Lagally: either is fine, let's merge it

McCool: sure, and look at this again later when the impl report is more up to date

PR 603

<kaz> PR 603 - Define and Discuss "Hubs"

Lagally: has been a draft for a while, let's merge, take remaining tasks into issues

McCool: ok, that at least cleans up some terminoligy

<mlagally> https://github.com/w3c/wot-architecture/issues/724

Lagally: will track remaining tasks in issue 724

PR 723

<kaz> PR 723 - Answers to Security and Privacy Questionnaire

McCool: ready to merge

Lagally: merging

PR 710

<kaz> PR 710 - WIP: Explainer for Architecture 1.1

Lagally: for explainer

McCool: main thing to do is decide where

McCool: suggest we merge to at least create the directory, then I will do another PR to update

Lagally: ok

editorial notes

McCool: some are useful content that should be merged, some are issues that should be resolved (and removed)

Lagally: some are placeholders, e.g. for empty sections

McCool: we might have to remove some of the empty sections if we run out of time (and if they aren't important)

security

McCool: some of the text there should be actual assertions, and the section made normative

Lagally: does impact our schedule; how long?

McCool: mechanical part by next week, more if we have content changes or reviews
… given four weeks, we can do updates and security review

Lagally: ok, that means CR candidate end of May

McCool: as long as we are done before July 30 (when Discovery and Profiles are due) we should be ok

Lagally: let's put the schedule conversation at the top of the agenda for the next call
