"Labels and Instructions" Do we need this as a module? https://github.com/w3c/wai-curricula/issues/478

<dmontalvo> https://content-author-modules--wai-curricula.netlify.app/curricula/content-author-modules/

Daniel: had asked if we needed 'labels and instructions'

Daniel added other things to the module. Not just about form creation but also clarity.

Carlos: It could fit into first module, 'plain language.' But can see that might make it too cumbersome.
... Perhaps rename it to 'forms.'

Daniel: Will change to forms.

Estella: Why is module 1 now 'plain language.'

Daniel: That might change.

Estella: agree with Carlos.

Brent: +1 to Carlos.

Daniel: what about the placement of the last module - now called labels and instructions?
... 'Content clarify' first and then 'forms'?

Brent: maybe before or after structure.

Carlos: if keep this as forms, keep current first two, 'content clarify' and 'content structure' together.
... Otherwise, don't have strong opinions on order.

Brian: order should start with general and then go to more specific.
... So start with 'clarity', end with data tables and then multimedia.

Estella: agrees more or less with Brian. Forms should be one of the last ones.

Carlos: Should not look at forms from too formal a perspective. Every page has a form in ...
... the form of search.
... So perhaps not that specific.

Daniel: Not clear on order yet but forms is generally more specific.

<Jade> It's the last module in the designer modules btw.

Daniel: Will decide order as we move forward.

Where to put titles? https://github.com/w3c/wai-curricula/issues/486

Daniel: some input that 'title' is related more to clarity than to 'structure'.

Carlos: does agree that 'title' is a clarity issue. Not really structure - it's metadata.
... Would not combine the structure and clarity sections.

Estella: pertains to clarity because of the way it is written. It helps user understand purpose of the page.

<GN> +1

<GN> to estella's comment

Howard: agrees it fits more with clarity.

Where to put links https://github.com/w3c/wai-curricula/issues/481

Daniel: plans to put it in 'clarity' section.
... Brent's comment - meaningful links relate more to 'plain language'/'clarity'.
... Agrees - it should be moved.

<estella> +1 to move it to module 1

<Jade> +1

Carlos: agrees to move to first module.

<GN> +1 to move it to module 1

Howard: sees link issue as another semantic issue. If no semantic section, then 'clarity' seems best fit.
... Maybe change section to 'clarity and semantics'

Daniel: will play around with names for the first section.

Estella: change outcome on 'headings' to 'mark up headings.' Fits more with structure.

Move Spacing and Grouping to Structure https://github.com/w3c/wai-curricula/issues/480

Daniel: input that spacing & grouping fits more with structure.
... Will keep contrast in clarity but move grouping and spacing to structure.
... What should we do with contrast and font type?

Estella: spacing and alignment is also clarity along with structure. Especially spacing.

Jade: Why not rename 'appearance' to 'readability and appearance' in module 1 so don't have to move out of clarity.

Carlos: Do seem to talk a lot about visual design. Does it belong in this 'content author.'?
... Is it more of a designer issue?

<estella> +1 to the suggestion

Daniel: Solution might be to suggest that if working with authoring tool and do not have ...
... a designer, pay attention to the designer issue of spacing and grouping.

Estella: Agrees with this solution.

Coverage of icons from a technical writers perspective https://github.com/w3c/wai-curricula/issues/503

Daniel: Michele commented that 'icons' is not a content author issue, but a designer issue.
... Does this fall under visual designer or should it be mentioned in 'content author' modules.

Estella: Two issues - designer usually choose the icons but content author should have background on this.
... Affects both.

Daniel: could rephrase to 'collaborate with designers to provide iconography and symbols to help clarify meaning of text.

Estella: as content author, does not usually consult with a designer; look for icons herself.

Carlos: important message to teach content authors that they can use icons and graphics to clarify the improve the understanding ...

<estella> +1 to Carlos

Carlos: of the content.

<slewth> +1 to carlos

<GN> +1 to Estella and Carlos

Sarah: Concurs with Carlos. Multi modality is important.
