Meeting minutes

minute review

Feb-2

(minutes approved)

Editors call

Feb-8 minutes

McCool: discussion on terminology, etc.
… more discussion during the Architecture call tomorrow

WoT-JP CG

Mizushima: will organize outreach events

McCool: concrete dates?

Mizushima: will let you know once decided

tpac 2022

McCool: the main question is whether to do hybrid or virtual
… we need to think about plugfest and f2f

McCool: I want to say yes if there is no quarantine at entry

Ege: I would like to attend physically if enough people show up so that we can have longer meetings and talks

McCool: do not forget that preparing for travel and travelling takes time

Kaz: as w3c, we want to get your honest opinions, not only meeting but also socializing, fees etc.

Lagally: I am a big fan of physical meetings but a physical event this year this year seems not feasible due to covid, just a stomach feeling

McCool: we have 4 months charter extension to finalize the one year extension procedure

McCool: any further comments on the charter extension?

<kaz> (none)

publications

McCool: my understanding is that we are adding dataresponse and get WD out the door

Lagally: yes but keeping it open for the notify operation

McCool: discovery: we do not have a normative content on what the consumer should do with discovery

McCool: so that needs to be written, which pushes our feature freeze date

McCool: also somehow we have duplicate text in the schedule, will fix it

Lagally: the last dates should be PRs

McCool: that is probably why there are the duplicates

McCool: another ongoing thing is the wide review

McCool: I am doing the security and privacy questionnaire for td but I am now wondering if we should do one but link to multiple specs we are working on since there are lots of duplications

McCool: there are some small changes in the questionnaire

McCool: in the PR I also have the old questionnaire in the same readme

McCool: I think one document makes more sense

Ege: do you mean all deliverables or only the ones in the rec track?

McCool: only in the rec track

McCool: I will have a draft ready this week

Daniel: would this mean that one issue would block all documents?

McCool: if structured well, I hope it does not

Kaz: That's a possible approach, but I think it might be easier to have a template written by you, and the other Editors extend that template for their specs.

WoT CG

<kaz> guide for CG Chair selection

[[
When a group has already chosen its Chair(s), only the Chair(s) themselves see
the checkboxes. Only Chairs may add or remove Chairs. Chairs may remove themselves.
]]

McCool: dr has made ege and cristiano chairs of the CG, which does not follow the process

McCool: now we have to remove them as chairs, start voting procedure

Kaz: I am talking with Dave, and would suggest (1) we once remove the update Chairs candidates wrongly nominated, and (2) we start over the official Chair selection procedure. I'll send a reminder about that to the CG mailing list about the procedure responding to Dave's message.

<kaz> Dave's message

Testing

McCool: I will run my tools to update the template

Liaisons

ITU-T Webinar

McCool: we also have the recordings of the ITU-T webinar

<kaz> Webinar page

McCool: of interest, Long Rong from China Mobile has presented what she called Thing Models but actually it is digital twins

McCool: so we should get into touch with China Mobile

McCool: we also had some geospatial discussions in the use case call

ECHONET

McCool: anything new from Echonet?

Kaz: yes, I've been working with them with them for further discussion
… FYI,they're talking with the WoT-JP CG as well, and (as Mizushima-san mentioned) there is a plan to have a joint event in March.

IRTF T2TRG

McCool: T2TRG also asked us to speak in the IETF, should be soon

<McCool> https://github.com/t2trg/2022-03-summary

McCool: we have a 15 mins slot to give updates

McCool: a bit late for japan. they are also doing some work on iot security that is of interest

McCool: aob?
