Meeting minutes

Communication about activities

rachael: communication topic - how to best communicate without adding a ton of work
… newsletter idea before

shawn: would like to help, on my list to do
… geek week is coming up

rachael: what's best way to do this?

shawn: good with whatever you want

rachael: is there a sense of urgency from AG?

michaelc: maybe should try to move up

kim: is the dashboard working for people?
… maybe linking from dashboard or expanding it

jeanne: I'm willing to do a monthly write up for wcag3, but would prefer a dashboard that links to silver wiki.
… not a weekly newsletter

rain: monthly sounds good. dashboard is helpful.
… a regular cadence of bullets on my work team works well. what was done and what's prioritized

<Zakim> shawn, you wanted to say internal and external. and monthly

shawn: difference for internal sharing and external facing. every topic wouldn't need to be updated monthly
… have a wiki page for ideas, but prefer not email

<Rain> +1 to wiki page

rachael: would next step be to gather requirements on the wiki page?

shawn: this is WAI wide and not just AG

rachael: heard it's not a priority for WAI but it is for AG
… AG solution might not work for WAI

shawn: my goal would be for WAI wide

rachael: set up a wiki page on w3.org/wiki for requirements gathering for public communication from AG and AG subgroups

<Rachael> Proposal: Michael to create a wiki page to gather AG requirements for public communication. When Shawn can move the wider WAI solution forward, she can pull from that.

<MichaelC> https://www.w3.org/wiki/AG_Communication_Requirements

Resolution: Michael to create a wiki page to gather AG requirements for public communication. When Shawn can move the wider WAI solution forward, she can pull from that.

Improving intergroup coordination https://www.w3.org/wiki/WAI_Group_Coordination

rachael: internal communication with dashboard. how is that going?

kim: useful for reminders

rain: I like it and reminder emails are important

<Zakim> jeanne, you wanted to read but not write b ecause I haven't seen the need. Reminder emails

jeanne: read especially with the reminder emails, very useful

rachael: any adjustments wanted?

AG status update

rachael: voted yesterday to merge silver task force with AG working group. Moving to horizontal review. Trying to get WCAG 2.2 at end of calendar year.
… Gregg Vanderheiden has joined as invited expert

kim: in process getting more members for mobile. Kathy out for a while. TF member is willing to spend more time

rachael: email the chairs with member's info and make them a co-facilitator

michael: if chairs are ok with a temp facilitator, regular on-boarding isn't necessary

rachael: 3 facilitators is ok if you don't want it to be temporary

Communication about activities

Task force update and discussion

kim: working with silver on template. Will meet with COGA during TPAC
… had a similar meeting with low vision

rachael: low vision group from Jon - had first meeting. would like to keep contrast separate from this group.

jeanne: would also like clarity

<Rachael> kathyeng: ACT working with Shawn on website redesign. Adding a table of contents. Having usability discussions on. Continuing to review drafted rules to get up on WAI website. No activities planne during TPAC.

rain: COGA working on meetings during TPAC - mobile, silver, personalization. Need someone to lead literature review subgroup. Working with Silver for clear language
… set up CG for people with cognitive differences

jeanne: Silver working draft for this quarter, guideline for error prevention, explainer, CFC for user generated content
… helpful collaboration with ACT to redesign methods to be less ambiguous
… updates in response to comments to FPWD
… next draft will focus on conformance and reduce ambiguity in outcomes. after that, relook at scoring
… many comments in response to ambiguity of conformance
… also working on content migration plan

New business and actino review

rachael: from last meeting, chuck sending reminder emails. Useful.

<Rachael> Update w3.org/WAI/standards-guidelines/wcag/new-in-22/ as needed

<Kim_patch> Apologies – I have to leave for another meeting at 9:45

michael: shawn knows how to update. think it's done.

<Rachael> New action: Everyone add requirements to the communications wiki
