<EA> <EA> present +

Rain: Does everyone feel confident that this list represents how we would like to work for the next year?
… Priority 1: the 1st priority is research

<EA> can scribe if needed

*go for it! Thank you!

<EA> I am ready

EA: scribe

<EA> Web version for content usable - wiki pages and testable statements as a trial for some of the elements as well. Groups to be priorised

<EA> Comments requested for Priority 1

<EA> Steve working on the web version - working with WAI group

<EA> Jennie asked if this means priorities need to be adjusted

<EA> Steve asked if this needed to be made explicit

<EA> EO and WAI group closely related

<Rain> Based on stevelee's point: P2 under groups to: P2: EO (WAI), rqtf (APA) Diversity

WAI website as umbrella term

<Rain> P2: EO (WAI websites), rqtf (APA) Diversity

Rain asked for agreement

Rain has made the update

Rain move on to Priority 2 Nov 2021 - research updating and reviewing. Issue paper for wayfinding - issue paper conversational interfaces etc.

More on the patterns and personas then in future - 2022 - publishing more issue papers

Rain went on to say there were more items on the wish list - all available on the wiki with aim to publish next version of content usable.

Any comments

<stevelee> ack: steve Lisa

<Fazio> defer

Rain asked if anyone felt we should discuss the priorities and then to publich date for content usable or defer

<JustineP> agree deter

<JustineP> defer

Michael Cooper asked for a time line.

David asked what else was going to be added other than mental health.

Rain suggested testable items and asked if Lisa's return next week wa OK in terms of deferring on the date

Rain felt that the preference was to defer - mentioned the date of April 2022 being the aim with the research has to be done - revisit in November 2021 when we know how it is going

Albert in answer to David's question - how is the workload that is given to the group

Albert added do we need to have other items other than mental health

David confirmed that the research will take up time and the testable statements will also need work. But deadlines are important

Steve suggested that planning is needed and how we work with other groups and the web version.

David suggested narrow the focus and see which issues need to be seen as priorities

<Albert> Thank you!

Rain said that at the moment we must concentrate on the high level priorities

<Rain> Proposal for timeline: currently aiming to publish next version in April 2022, timeline to be revisited in November 2021 after we have a better sense from research of what is involved (pending Lisa's input)

<kirkwood> Voting on these priorities could we be more specific in irc

Jennie asked for confirmation about some of the priorities - a single testable statementA single

<Rain> singles testable statment as trial -- change to "a single testable statement as a trial"

<Rain> Priority 1 bits: web version for content usable wikipages, and housekeeping a single testable statement as a trial

What is the time scale?

<JustineP> What does housekeeping refer to?

<Rain> https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YH4YETBmAdhfL9p8FK5ATUiXDGibeJh66psQCSUAvLQ/edit#gid=0

<JustineP> Thank you for clarifying!

Rain mentioned there is a need to clarify the issues around the housekeeping related to issues and open comments

<Rain> Propose changing this bit: "wikipages, and housekeeping" to "wikipages, and housekeeping (cleaning up issues and resolving remaining open comments)"

I think this is going to be hard to plan if it is so loosely worded

<Rain> Priority 1 bits: Bits web version for content usable wikipages, and housekeeping (cleaning up issues and resolving remaining open comments) a single testable statement as a trial

Do we know how many open comments there are going to be?

<krisannekinney> +1

It takes such a long time to resolve these sometimes

Yes +1

I think it is hard to make a decision about something we have not seen!!!

<Albert> 0 same reason as John

<Rain> wikipages, and housekeeping (cleaning up issues and resolving remaining open comments marked as review for next version from the December 2020 working draft, as well as any comments we consider high priority that come in afterwards)

<JustineP> Really like that addition!

<Rain> ack: kris

<Fazio> yes

Kris Anne asked if were not already working with the majoity of these groups and now just collaborating with Silver.

Do we need to add time to consider how we are working with them and how it affect the timeline and planning?

Rain confirmed that this was an acknowledgement of who we are collaborating with and the need to define this activity

Out of scope to ask how we collaborate but can consider this later

David mentioned XAUR and RAUR need to be looked at for comments

Rain asked if there were any further requests to change the wording

<krisannekinney> +1

<Fazio> we have 2 weeks to get in XAUR comments

<Rain> Priority 2, research: Reaserch Research: Updating and Review Research Modules so it can be published. Issue Paper for wayfinding and Collaborate with authors of Accessible Way-Finding using Web Technologies. Issue Paper for conversational interfaces getting Research module published

General ageement on the Priority 1 list so moved on to Priority 2

Rain queried whether they were going to be published or just lead to significant work

Jennie asked if the sub bullets should be demoted or includes waiting from more content

Rain is fixing the formats so they are seen as sub bullets

<Jennie> *thanks for clarifying! Sorry - looked away for a moment

<Jennie> +1

<krisannekinney> +1

Rain asked if there were any negatives for Priority 2 issues as published

Priority 2 research and issue papers

Rain mentioned running out of time so rolling forward Steve's agenda item

<Rain> '''Research and Issue Papers ''' * Research: Update and Review Existing Research Modules and publish them * Issue Paper for wayfinding and Collaborate with authors of Accessible Way-Finding using Web Technologies * Issue Paper for conversational interfaces (begin work on this issue paper and scope for future completion)

<kirkwood> +1

+1 much clearer

<krisannekinney> +1

<JustineP> +1

<Jennie> +1

Rain is submitting the change and moving on to Agenda item 2

Priority 1 and Priority 2 research and issue papers agreed but the other items will be rolled over

<Rain> resolve definitions for voice user interface and Integrated Voice Menus

<Rain> https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-cognitive-a11y-tf/2021Apr/0027.html

<Rain> Voice user interfaces (VUIs) allow the user to interact with a computer system through voice and speech

<Rain> Proposed change: "Voice user interfaces (VUIs) allow the user to interact with a computer system through voice input and output"

There is a reason for having speech and voice

<Jennie> +1

<Rain> "Voice user interfaces (VUIs) allow the user to interact with a computer system through speech and voice input and output"

<Rain> straw poll for three options:

<Jennie> Is it speech output?

You can just interact with a sound but also with speech

<Rain> option 1, Original: Voice user interfaces (VUIs) allow the user to interact with a computer system through voice and speech

<Rain> option 2, proposed change: interact with a computer system through voice input and output

<Rain> option 3, something new: Voice user interfaces (VUIs) allow the user to interact with a computer system through speech, sounds, and voice input and output

<Jennie> *Apologies, have to drop for another meeting

<Fazio> voice over does

Rain will resolve the issue by sending it to the list

<Albert> Thank you Rain
