Meeting minutes

Preliminary

Lagally: We changed the branch master to main. Please change your local branch.

Prev minutes

<kaz> Feb-23

Lagally: Any change requests, any objections, before it gets published?

Lagally: I hear no objections, so it gets published.

Use case note publication

Lagally: 2 week review starts from now, and publication decision during the vF2F

Resolution: 2 week review starts from now (after the call) and publication decision during the vF2F

(discussion on March 18 and final decision on March 25)

PR 102 - Linked building data use case

Lagally: Let's take a look into the PRs.

Linked building data use case

Georg: In this use-case with focused on leverage things model.

Lagally: is it a standard?

Georg: It isn't a standard.

<kaz> 4.12.1 Linking Smart Building Things and BIM Models

Georg: the goal of the use-case is to show how to automate commisson of control algorithms.

McCool: We need to align with the discovery for that.

Georg presents the PR in detail

Lagally: Sorry for jumping over you, mc, but it feels more relaxed to let the author present the PR first.

McCool: I have a question. Are these examples based on a product or a thought experiment?

Georg: It is based on an open source project.
… but the extention is based on a thought experiment.

<McCool> https://github.com/w3c/wot-discovery/blob/main/proposals/geolocation.md

McCool: Let's discuss this further. Let's merge it for now and continue working on it.

<GeorgSchneider> W.r.t. different protocols we reference dependendies to https://w3c.github.io/wot-binding-templates/ protocol bindings

<kaz> (Georg and Herve are guests from the Linked Smart Building CG)

<GeorgSchneider> Georg and Hervé are members of W3C Linked Building Data Group

Kaz: The content is great. On the other hand, in the use-case context it should have a more application-specific title from the user's viewpoint.

McCool: That is a great point.

Georg: I like the suggestion.

Kaz: regarding your affiliations, please let me check the W3C procedure within the Team.

<GeorgSchneider> Link to Open Smart Home Dataset

Lagally: I merge it as it is once Kaz get clarification on the affiliations. We can change the title etc. later on.

PR 110

McCool: I agree on commenting out incomplete things and work on it.

<kaz> PR 110 - Preparing WG note publication

<kaz> Preview

McCool: like kaz's comment, the title of "4.3.1 Smart Building" sounds too broad
… maybe the category 4.3 could be "Smart Buildings" and the use case 4.3.1 should have a more application-specific title

McCool: Going back to retail. Is it one big use-case? I would leave it for now like it is. But I would like to break it up in the future.

McCool: Transportation includes public transportation and logistics. We can leave it for now, but it should be in automotive.

Sebastian: Coming back to the automotive use-case. I talked to BMW and they would like to add a use-case for the ontoloy. I cannot guarantee the timing for getting it done.

McCool: We have some ascii diagrams. We should make real diagrams in the future.

Lagally: I agree. For the moment it is better than nothing.

McCool: Short codes for the use-case is useful for refering to them in the requirements. For now I would supress them, it reduces the noise.

Lagally: I will merge it for now then. So that people can work on it with PRs.
